We were at KKH early in the morning today.. everyone in the family are anxious to find out what could have exactly happened to our dear princess's eye.
What exactly could be the white growth that was being mentioned at the Reflection Clinic.??
Nikole was being seen by 3 doctors to confirm her eyes status; and we were very shocked to learn that her right eye is having very bad eye sight at degree of about 600 and astigmatism of about 400 degree while her better eye; the left eye is seeing thing at a short-sighted degree of abt 200 and astigmatism of about 100.
All doctors were shaking their head and lamented that the right eye is bad...The brain, for some reason, does not fully acknowledge the images seen by the right eye.
The white growth need to be further seen and ascertain but it is highly suspected that it is causing her right eye for the poor vision.
As this is the first visit; the doctor did not want to conclude much. They want us to start Nikole on the eye patching immediately so that the right eye can be "normalised" soonest.
Our
dear darling was very sensible; no crying; no complains while she was
being lead to so many rounds of tests and worst part is to get her eyes instilled with some eye drops so that the muscles of the eyes can be
relaxed and allowed the doctors to see the nerves of the eyes more
clearly..the nurses were telling Mummy it will hurt her eyes .. but she was strong!
The tears came from mummy instead...
she was rewarded by many stickers from the doctors and nurses .. ^_^
Mummy started to read a lot from the internet abt Nikole's eye
condition.. and highly suspect it is lazy eye.. read more abt lazy eye
in this link http://www.lazyeye.org/
anyway, more checkup lining up for Nikole; and we shall hear what the
doctor will comment then...
By the time we left KKH .. it was almost 3pm..
We brought along the spectacle prescription to the optician to help get Nikole a pair of glasses before heading home. As her degree was too high for a 5year old; the doctor mentioned that the degree need to be reduced hence will be giving her lower degree lens.

Our princess trying out the patch and the glasses that was loaned to her from the Optician; so that she can play around with the glasses for the time being before she is being enforced to wear the glasses and patch every time. |
